The Indian Premier League(IPL) is professional league for 20-2o cricket competition in India.It was initiated by Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI). It consists of 10 different teams which represents 10 different cities in India. According to Global sports salaries review, it is second highest-paid league.

The Indian Premier League(IPL) is professional league for 20-20 cricket competition in India. It was initiated by Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI) in the year of 2008. According to global sports salaries review,IPL has second highest-paid league. IPL is scheduled for every year. Up-to now they conducted 3 and 2011 is 4th Edition of it. Firstly it started with 8 teams and at present there are 10 teams.

For the IPL 2011 they introduced two additional teams. Every team represents different cities in India. And team franchises are decided by winning bidding conducted by BCCI.

The teams in IPL are Royal Challengers Bangalore, Chennai Super Kings, Deccan Chargers, Delhi Daredevils, Kings XI Punjab, Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals, Kolkata Knights Riders and the new teams this year are Pune Warriors India and Kochi Tuskers Kerala.

The inaugural session for this League is in between Kolkata Knight Riders and Bangalore Royal Challengers on 18th April 2008 in Bangalore.

IPL Trophy

The diamond-encrusted trophy of DLF Indian Premier League(IPL) Cricket was designed by Orra design team. Orra diamond brand owned by Antwerp-based Rosy Blue Group. It comprises of a player in a gold leafing. He is shown holding a bat in his hand, next to a map of India. On the map the names of all the IPL teams have been engraved, symbolized by ten rubies. Every year, the winners of the IPL T20 tournament are presented with a replica of this trophy, along with the prize money.
